Beauty Through Media:
My definition-   Beauty in media is seen by filters and Photoshop.
1)Some things I've learned is magazines go through some many layers of Photoshop.
2)Another thing is girls have no self confidence in their selves without makeup.
3)Last one is people use media to show other cultures beauty
 

Beauty Through Gender:
My definition- Gender doesn't make you beautiful, the characteristics that make up a person make you beautiful.
1) Everybody thinks men should be built to fit their role as a man.
2) Women that are bigger get paid less than slimmer women.
3) Most women to look young they need to skinny and tan



Beauty Defined by Culture
My definition- Beauty throughout the world is different, countries have different ways of seeing beauty.
1) Stretched earlobes in Kenya are considered beautiful
2) In Ethiopia scars are considered hot
3) In New Zealand face tattoos and blue lips



Beauty Through Age
My definition- Age is just a number but as you age wisdom and knowledge can be beautiful.
1) The woman in the video look back and all said they feel more self confident in their self
2) Some celebrities use Photoshop to make themselves look younger.
3) 80% of women over 40 make purchases on makeup to look better.



Beauty Through History
My definition- Beauty is not trying to look someone else, it's the self confidence you have in yourself
1) Barbie Dolls back then use to be blonde hair, blue eyes, and tan. Now dolls have different shades of colors
2) Japan people painted their face white to make their self beautiful
3) I didn't know that there were so many different changes through history.


Without self confidence you will never see yourself as beautiful and will want you to use Photoshop and put on layers of makeup.
I learned that you can put on as much makeup as you want but you will still be beautiful.

Beauty Story

Beauty is the self confidence on how you look at you self and it doesn't matter about your makeup or those types of things.



Blake is the best basketball player at West Coast High and last year for their first game he put up thirty points for them. Tomorrow is our first game and the whole team is pumped for the game. Coach Wood walks in an tells all the players to dress nice tomorrow. After Coach Wood leaves the locker room, Chris walks up to me and tells me to get a haircut because it doesn't look good and I told him no. Chris went storming out and everybody knows if you don;t listen to him he will get the coaches to do it. So after practice Coach Wood tells me I need to get a haircut or he will be bench me for the game. So later that day I went to the barbershop to get that taken care of.

When I walked in everybody looked at me like I've done something which made me feel insecure. When it was my turn I stood up and told him I wanted a fade and he ask high or mid and I said high and I know I don't like high fades but with everybody looking at me I couldn't think. When he was done cutting my hair I looked in the mirror and then I remember telling him I wanted a high fade to him. My haircut looked like skinned rat and I hated it. When I got home I was trying to figure out a way to hide my haircut and I know we're not allowed to have hats anything so I was screwed.

The next day when I walked in Chris and his friends started making fun of my haircut and started pointing and laughing. Even though I was embarrassed I keep walking but they kept following me and then all of a sudden a girl scares them off and says quit picking on him and they all went away. As soon as I saw the person do scare off Chris and his gang I realized it was Ashley that said that. As I walking to her my heart drop because I've liked her forever and I couldn't believe she would standup for me but when we came face to face I told her thank you standing up for me. She said no problem. I asked how could I make this up to you and she said meet me at the Cafe Lito's tomorrow. After we both walked away I tried to act cool about it but really inside I was filled with joy.

So school let out and it was hour until our game and everybody was still making fun of me but I just ignored all of them because I know I was going start first in the game. So in the 1st half we were winning by 20-5 and final score was 48-32 and I made 20 points on my own.

So the next day I meet Ashley at Cafe Lito's and we sat and talked for awhile and I know she notice me being nervous around her but it was because I liked her. So a few minutes she said are you insecure about your haircut and I told her yes. She sighed and said Blake you look good with your haircut even though it might be different to you i looks good and you shouldn't care about what everybody thinks because they will always judge no matter and you will always look good. Well thanks Ashley that really helped now I not going care what people think I'm just going to be me.

Dangers

Have you ever encountered a dangerous situation?

Well I did one night I was taking the trash out and where the trash is you have to walk a good little way. When I was about to put the trash in the trashcan I saw three coyotes to my right and they were just watching me. So I dropped the trash in the trashcan ever so slightly and looked back to see how far I was. I notice that the garage down got put down because I forgot to tell my mom I was taking the trash out so she closed it and the front door was locked. I remember we keep the den door down stairs unlocked so i bolted to the den and I don't know if the coyotes were chasing me but i was determine to get inside. I got inside safely but that was a dangerous situation for me because I thought I was going to die. 

The only comparison this story has with Night is the fear for your life, when the Jews feared for life just to see the next day. The ordeals I have in my everyday life do not compare to Elie's life because he was stripped of his home and family and many of his friends and family died.

Halloween

Family Traditions 

Fall is the best time of season cause it has Halloween. During Halloween my family and I decorate the house with pumpkins and candles. Every night we light a pumpkin spice candle so it smells like fall in the house. On Halloween we go on hayrides and eat treats at all night and handout candy. So to sum it up we just eat and enjoy family together as a family.

Anticipation Overview 

"If you are willing to work hard, you can accomplish almost anything in this country."

The reason people are successfully is cause of hard work. Most people who are successfully had to make sacrifices to get were they are today. For me I had to sacrifice time cause I was failing math and so I made up in my mind that I was going to pass. So almost every night when we had a test I would stay up to 12 am studying and now its payed off cause I'm really good at math. So people who are gifted in certain areas and when the gifting runs out their stuck but when you put hard work in it will stick with you forever and you'll never forget.

• One of the reasons Hony's blog are so popular is because all work is so positive and brings joy to others.
• Hony get rid of the single story by asking them what their stories are everyday it something different from all types of races.
• The reason I chose this picture is because the man looked so concentrated and I kind of was interested to find out his story.
• The interesting thing about his story is he was always betting at racetracks and every time he would lose more and more money. For fifty years he would sell clothes, chairs, and belts and he had nowhere to live and he would always be looked down like he had done something wrong. In his interview he told Hony he knows a lot of guys who committed crimes and they are some lousy people.
• Hony help dispel the single story by showing even though you might be poor have nowhere to live you not a criminal and you shouldn't be looked cause you don't have income. I learned that even people are on the streets does not mean that all of sell drugs or kill people.

If I were a musician even just for a day

And my school will have satellites across the country
